MEET DAVE
3 Words: WASTE OF TIME.
Nothing worth noting. Everything seems rushed. I'm not even sure if the producers and writers spent time to study the marketability of this movie.
I was only banking on the comedy when I watched Meet Dave. Thought it would be at least as funny as Norbit or The Klumps. But the comedy was so blunt. I should have listened to my friend.
This is one of the worst movies of Eddie Murphy.
Recommendation: Don't waste your time and money in this movie. Don't even watch this on dvd. hehe

THE DARK NIGHT
I said this three years ago and I think I will have to say it again -- This is by far the best batman movie.
(......................................................................)
Almost Perfect Cast
The Dark Knight is a masterpeice. The story was delivered well. Thanks to the superb acting of Heath Ledger (Joker) and Christian Bale (Batman). Adding to the treat are the excellent performance of Moregan Freeman (Lucius Fox), Michael Caine (Alfred), and Gary Oldman (Lt. Gordon). Aaron Eckhart delivered his part well but not as good as the five I mentioned. Only problem with the cast for me is the one who took the role of Rachel Dawes. In my opinion, it would have been better to see Katie Holmes take the role again. (I guess she refused the role because of what will happen in the end. Anyone, who has a better idea?)
Moreover, I think the Joker overshadowed the Batman in this movie. Heath Ledger was phenomenal. I do think he deserves an Oscar. Until now, I can't seem to get two line out of my head -- "Why so serious?" & "Let me put a smile on that face.".
Great Stunts & Toys
The batman mobile was so cool. It has great looks and it can turn into a cool bike. Wish I can ride one. (ah...Bruce Wayne gets to ride a Lamborghini)
The batman suit looked cool too esp. when Batman gets to fly/glide from one building to another. It looked similar to the latest Batman animation series (The Batman).
The concept and the effects of the sonar mobile phone was amazing. This is a bonus.
Expect explosive action scenes. Compared to the previous Batman (w/ an exception to Batman Begins), the actions seem to be more refined.
Favorite Scenes
1. The scene when two groups of people need to choose who should live (Ship)
2. Conversation between the Joker and Two-Face (lolz...Nurse Joker)
Too Long and Too Dark?
The movie was two and a half hour. It was indeed long but I was never bored (not a scene). What I got was a rich plot.
Was it too dark? I believe so. It's not really suitable for young kids. To add more light into this, you can view this blog: http://dennis128.multiply.com/journal/item/201
The Verdict
Again, this is the best batman movie. I'm excited for the next installment. Despite recent news about Christian Bale (Assault), I hope he'll still get the role for Batman.
Unfortunately, the producers and the writers may be forced to stick to Two-Face as villain (maybe they'll add one more -- Riddler again? Mad-Hatter? Clayface?)

HANCOCK
An entertaining movie that does not disappoint that much.
What I liked about the movie is the story. It featured something new, a hero with a bad attitude. Honestly, his careless destructive behavior was fun to watch.
It had a great twist too. (Clue: There's something about the girl.)
What the movie lacked are more scenes or conversations that explained "his" origin. Flashbacks would have helped to spice up the movies.
The acting was ok. Will Smith was definitely better in "I Am Legend" (maybe bec. of the role. Hancock definitely had less drama).
What else can I say? Ah! It had lousy music/soundtrack. It needed more action scenes.
Verdict: "Good job"

WANTED
|There was no boring part; not one!)

'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
They were smart to pick an unpopular main actor (James McAvoy). This will prevent viewers from identifying the actor with other movies. Instead, we can simply focus on his character in this new movie.
They were smart to choose Angelina Jolie and Moregan Freeman. This increased the marketability and, in my opinion, coolness of the movie. Angelina Jolie, as all of us know, is a very beautiful actress. She is also known to be great with this role (Tomb Raider, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, etc.). She was perfect for the role.
Then, Moregan Freeman is no doubt a great actor. (Best Supporting Actor - Million Dollar Baby. I think he deserves more awards)
_________
|Great Story)
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
For the story alone, I would have already given it 5 stars. Initially, you may think that this is another typical asssassin movie or a good-for-nothing-turned-hero story. But as the story continues, you will discover a great twist and a perfect ending.
Great concept: The Fraternity, The Training, Fate-Interpreter-Apostle

|Curve Shot & Max Payne Effect)
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
The curve shot was awesome! I have to say that it was the coolest element of this movie. I think Wanted (2008) is the first to feature this (correct me if I'm wrong). Then the slow motion effect, similar to the game Max Payne, really did add flavor to the movie.
Watch out for the bullet-to-bullet impact scenes (even with the curve shot).

|Action Packed Wanted)
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
Every single scene gave me adrenaline rush. They were explosive--the first kill (on top of the building), the first chase scene, the train encounter with "Cross", and the final showdown.
Even the narration part in the beginning was executed well. They almost always use the "heartbeat effect" (for lack of a better term). You'll know when you see it.

|Warning: The F Word)
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
Watch out for the F word. It was mentioned more than 20 times. (esp. if you brought your kids)
______________
|Recommendation)
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
I will definitely watch Wanted in the big screen one or two more times.
My advice: Don't watch this with very young kids.
